Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan, has at last debuted as an actor in Bollywood films. On June 21, 2024, his film Maharaj was made available on Netflix. The Maharaj Libel Case of 1862 serves as the basis for the film. The life of reformer and journalist Karsandas Mulji, portrayed by Junaid, is central to the storyline. In the Bombay Supreme Court, he battled the spiritual leader JJ, portrayed by Jaideep Ahlawat.
Maharaj encountered several obstacles before to its publication. But the film debuted on the massive streaming service after the Gujarat High Court removed a stay order prohibiting its release. The movie also has Shalini Pandey, Sharvari Wagh, Jay Upadhyay, Sneha Desai, and other supporting actors in addition to Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat. Reviewers of Netflix film Maharaj
Following Maharaj's Netflix release, viewers reacted to and reviewed the movie on X, formerly known as Twitter. The spectators' responses have been conflicting. A lot of people liked Junaid Khan's feature film debut, while some thought the courtroom drama was a bit slow.
"WHY is it on OTT?" asked an X user in their review of the Maharaj movie. I've given it a fair rating. We must encourage these films and publications. It is not shameful to acknowledge our errors and make corrections. A film like this ought to be seen on a large screen. We must reflect and make changes if our religion or family has any improper customs.
Many, though, were critical of Maharaj. "Maharaj is DISAPPOINTING," one person commented. Dragged to the core with episodic storytelling that fails to hold attention. Drama and outstanding performances are required for these kinds of movies, but regrettably, #JunaidKhan falls short of the other performers' performances. NOT SUGGESTED. "The film is flat with a predictable plot and extremely weak writing," the user continued. It can't maintain your interest because you'll see the same reoccurring pattern on a frequent basis; the events change, but the message, happenings, and outcome stay the same. Many, though, were critical of Maharaj.
